Welcome to my 2017 A to Z Challenge – poetry inspired by music. In most cases, my selected song triggers a memory or deeper meaning that I will expose in original poetry. Of course, there may be the occasional non-nostalgic song thrown into the mix that just inspires me to write. Either way, join me on my musical/poetic journey through A to Z — you may find a “new to you” song that you enjoy!
My mom’s cancer this time feels different. I am not sure I worry any more or any less — but watching a parent go through cancer affects you differently as an adult than as a child. I often relive the fear and concern I had as a child, watching my mom and family experience cancer and all the things that go with it: hair loss, doctors appointments, missing activities because she isn’t feeling well, and the overall fatigue that takes over her body.
Getting down to the wire this week, but this TToT post revolves around family and work, and all things in between.
So I have been on a bit of a TToT hiatus, and haven’t completed it for the past two weeks. While I shouldn’t make excuses, a flurry of events has required a lot of my time and mind power. I know, I know, I know, that is when I should do it the most.

While I haven’t done 50 weeks myself, this week marks my 21st week of Thankfulness. 21 is a big important number for many, symbolizing a time for cheers and beers, so I guess it all works out for these festivities, AmIRight?
Another week These days I live for the weekends. Week days blur together and I can’t wait for the weekends when I have time for myself.
So I am lucky to have five munchkins that are ages five and under. This post is dedicated to my munchkins (or as other people call them nieces and nephews).
As someone who hasn’t had the privilege of having many, many memories with most of my grandparents, I often find myself telling others to make the most of the times they have, when they have them. But this post will be dedicated to my grandparents and the memories we have shared. I will also share a painting series I created to represent the memories I share with my grandparents.
For some reason, I am having a terrible time remembering this week besides Halloween and cooking good food. Let’s see how this list comes about. Suffering from the symptoms of a bare-boned kitchen, I spent Tuesday evening grocery shopping —…
Almost forgot to get this in this weekend. Seems that Jak is the one to keep reminding me lately. I really should get to blogging more than just the blog hop, or perhaps just write more than just in this…
