Counting the memories

Weekends kicked off at five.
Dinner out for seven
then back home for 500.
I’d watch the table of four.
“Tune in tonight at 10…”
that’s our cue for all 52
cards piled as one.
Sometimes we’d crowd up to 12
around grandma’s table for six.
Generations one, two and three
gathered a buck fifty,
ready for a game of 31.
