A to Z: “The Perfect Space”

“P” Inspiration: “The Perfect Space” by The Avett Brothers

I have known you since I was young.
As we’ve grown older, I’ve held my tongue.
Because I have had many friends come and go
and I know you’re a true friend, not a foe.

We’ve weathered hot and cold all of our lives.
Some so low, I wasn’t sure we’d mend the divide.
But like they say, time heals all wounds,
hurt, grudges, anger and feuds.

You have known when to hold my hand
to pull me out of my valleys and help me stand.
You’ve also let me make mistakes and take me back
even when you have felt like the one who was attacked.

I am not sure I can repay what I owe you, my debt,
but knowing you, you will forgive and forget.
I just want you to know, I’m here ’til the end.
You’ll always be my pal, sister and friend.

Do you have many friends that you have had for a really long time, that you consider more like family who will accept who you are regardless?
