A to Z: Treasure

(An A to Z Challenge entry)

For I wish I were a pirate,
to cast my sails and wait
til I find a buried treasure
with all my pirate mates.

And if we find that wooden chest
filled with gold coins, jewelry best.
We’ll party until dawn
drinking rum without any rest.

Oh I wish I were a pirate
No curfew, no tax, no diet.
it may be a dangerous life
but for wealth, I’ll test my fate.

It’s a pirate’s life for me! I don’t think I ever went into a pirate phase growing up, but I do find myself drawn to them in movies/games and such. As you know I hope to attempt a pirate game at some point even!

In the end, however, were you to find bountiful booty, the likelihood is that all your “mates” would try to kill one another so they could keep the score for themselves :)~

I don’t think I ever went through a pirate phase either, but like you, like them as an adult. I guess we will never know if we found the treasure, matey. If we did, I’m sure we’d never share!
