Day 27, Monday: A letter to your readers.
I was originally going to ask you what kind of posts do you like to read from me. And while I would still like to hear what you have to say, I have a new request.
On Thursday, my Uncle John fell 12 feet off a ladder while inspecting something on his boat at the dry dock. He hit his head on concrete and had some pretty serious brain injuries and bleeds, resulting in being helicoptered to Mayo for emergency brain surgery. On Friday, things were not looking good and he had to have an additional surgery to remove the first vertebrae and part of his skull to ease pressure from swelling.
He is still in a comatose state. Last night and today he has been showing signs of responsiveness and improvement but he is still not awake. One of my aunts started a Caring Bridge site for him so that his extended family and friends can track his progress.
A bunch of us cousins were just joking about John last week when his email got hacked. And then this happens.
So depending on your beliefs, readers, I ask that you please send positive thoughts, good vibes and/or prayers to my Uncle John. While there has been progress, it will be a long journey ahead.
