“Are you Chinese?!”

Day 25, Saturday: Something someone told you about yourself that you’ll never forget (good or bad).

This will be short because I am at the cabin.

The first time I met my childhood best friend was when she moved in across the street. I was three and she, Ali, was two. It was before I had glasses and I could hardly see. I apparently had this squinty “look” in my eyes (geez, mom and dad, couldn’t you tell I couldn’t see?!)

Anyways, the first thing Ali said and asked me was, “Are you Chinese?!”  I am not, I just had squinted eyes because of my vision. But I didn’t get glasses until first grade.

I will never ever forget that first introduction.

Did someone tell you something you will never forget?

  1. Ha! That’s hilarious!
Not too long ago, after one of Brady’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, my four-year-old nephew asked him, “Did you beat those white guys?” I don’t think my nephew understands that Brady is white, too.

Hahaha I believe I recall you telling me this. I wouldn’t forget the introduction either. I just watched some standup comedy on Netflix last night and the comedian called children little drunk people (or something to that extent) being they have no filter.

It would be awesome to be able to recall some of the various things we said as children.

I wrote a poem about us that starts out with this introducution. I plan to include parts of the poem in my Maid of Honor speech at her wedding.
